Examine exterior housing, AC cord, switches, and panel receptacle of the device for physical damage or cracks. Examine the fiberoptic panel for tears and cracks.
Make sure the unit is off and unplugged from the wall. Allow the unit to cool, then remove the case screws and remove the cover.
Examine the lamp assembly and replace burned out lamps if required. Make sure secondary lamp assembly is working and ready for carousel replacement if applicable.
Check the AC fuse for continuity using multimeter.
Clean the reflecting mirror using cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol.
Replace all lamps and reattach the device housing.
Attach the fiberoptic panel to the device and turn on the unit.
Check the light intensity of the Fiberoptic panel:

A. Place the head of a dosimeter directly on the fiberoptic panel with the sensing surface facing the emitted light

B. A minimum average of 6-8 mW/sqcm/nm must be obtained for the panel to be considered effective. More specific minimums follow below.

Clean the fiberoptic panel with a germicidal cleaner or disinfectant. A 10% bleach solution (1 part bleach in 10 parts water) is recommended.Air dry only.
Using an Electrical Safety Analyzer, measure the chassis leakage and ground resistance. Chassis leakage must be less than 100 mA and ground resistance must be .15 ohms or less.
