Sims Deltec CADD Legacy Infusion Pumps

Sims Deltec introduced the Legacy line of ambulatory infusion pumps in 1999 to replace the earlier line of CADD pumps which includes the CADD 1 (model 5100), CADD Plus (model 5400), and CADD PCA II (model 5800). Shown above are the CADD-Legacy 1, which replaces the CADD 1, the CADD-Legacy PCA, which replaces the CADD PCA II, and the CADD-Legacy Plus, which replaces the CADD Plus. The controls and keypads on the new pumps are similar to the old models, and the same disposables will fit all models, both new and old.

New features which have been added to the Legacy series include:

Upstream occlusion detection. Earlier CADD models could only detect a downstream occlusion. Programmable to ON or OFF.
Air-in-line detections with user-adjustable pressure variation, or off setting. Earlier versions had no air-in-line detection. Programmable to HI, LOW, or OFF.
Detection of Cassette attachment. Earlier version had no cassette attachment sensor or alarm.
On/Off Switch. To turn off earlier CADD pumps, the battery had to be removed.
Rate parameters have been increased on the Legacy versions of the CADD-1 and CADD+ to 125 ml/hr. (the CADD-1 still programs in ml/24 hrs and has been increased to 3000 ml/day).
Rate parameters for the Legacy CADD-PCA have been increased to 50 ml/hr; concentration programming has been expanded to allow programming in micrograms/hr. Clinician bolus increased to 20 ml.
CADD-Legacy pumps can use the same Diplomat PC Communications systems as the CADD-Prizm to download data to computer
Legacy pumps retain a 500-item event memory
Legacy pumps require 2 AA alkaline batteries instead of one 9-volt used in earlier CADD models
Legacy PCA now can use remote dose cord (21-6220)
