Ross Enteral Devices

The Ross Family of enteral devices includes the Flexiflo I and II (discontinued), Flexiflo III, Flexiflo Companion, Quantum, and Patrol pumps. Each model has a number of unique dedicated sets (see accompanying list for administration sets for each model.)

Ross Flexiflo III

Ross Flexiflo III

The Ross Flexiflo III is a rotary peristaltic pole-mounted pump with LCD display, rate and volume readout with dose limit, low battery and no flow alarms. It is unique in its ± 5% accuracy, which is very precise among enterals. It is not recommended by Ross for neonatal or pediatric use. Rate Parameters: 1 - 300 ml/hr. in 1 ml increments Occlusion Pressure: 20 PSI Accuracy: ± 5% Battery Life: 8 hours at 300 ml/hr Recharge Time: 1.5 hours of recharge per hour of use Alarms: No Flow, Cover Open, Low Batt, Dose Complete, Audio Off (later models)

Ross Flexiflo Companion

The Ross Flexiflo Companion is a 2-piece unit, a pump and a separate charger unit into which the pump can be inserted. The pump can be used as a stationary pole-mounted unit, using the pole clamp on the charger, or can function as an ambulatory pump using the option RS504 Transporter pouch. The pump uses a dedicated cassette with a bellows mechanism to deliver measured amounts of enteral formula. LCD display, push-button rate entry and a rotary function control. No dose limit. Ross does not recommend this product for neonatal or pediatric use.

Rate Parameters: 5-300 ml/hr in 1 ml. increments

Occlusion Pressure: 24 PSI

Accuracy: ± 10 %

Battery Life: 8 hours at 150 ml/hr.

Recharge Time: 1.5 hours for every hour of usage

Alarms: Select Run, Reset Rate, Low Battery, Empty, Occlusion

The Ross Flexiflo Quantum offers the unique ability to flush the enteral feeding set and indwelling feeding tube each hour with a 25 ml. flush solution. It also offers automatic priming, dose limit, volume accumulations for both enteral and flush solutions. Rotary peristaltic operation. Rate Parameters: 1-300 ml/hr in 1 ml incr. Occlusion Pressure: 15 PSI Accuracy: ± 10% or ± 0.5 ml, whichever is greater Battery Life: 8 hours at 125 ml/hr. Ross Flexiflo Patrol

The Ross Flexiflo Patrol incorporates the use of a specially-designed administration set which automatically clamps off the flow of fluid when removed from the pump, preventing free-flow. Features include a dose limit, accumulated volume counter, programmable hold time, lock-out, and memory which retains the rate, dose, and accumulated volume. The Patrol is recommended for pediatric patients. Rotary peristaltic operation. Rate Range: 1-300 ml/hr in 1 ml increments Dose Limit: 1-9999 mls.
