Abbott Lifecare Infusion Devices
|
Abbott Lifecare III, Abbott Lifecare 4 |
Abbott Lifecare infusion pumps are general-purpose pole-mounted home and hospital pumps, with wide rate and volume ranges, which can be used for virtually every area of patient care requiring standard volumetric infusion. Most require a dedicated set and function using piston/displacement operation. They can be used for standard or enteral infusion, or for parenteral or blood infusion using specialized sets. |
Abbott Lifecare 3
|
Features: Thumbwheel rate and volume dial allows titration (adjustable rate without interruption of infusion) at all times. Uses dedicated disposable sets with hermetically-sealed in-line cassette which traps air. Rental accessories include flow sensor, but can operate without. Optional nurse call, infiltration detector available. |
Rate Parameters: 1 - 999 mL/hr in 1 ml increments Dose Limit: 1 - 999 mL in 1 ml increments Occlusion Limits: 10 - 20 PSI Accuracy: ± 5 % |
Abbott Lifecare 4, 4P, 4H
Similar in appearance and function to the earlier-model Lifecare 3, these pumps have replaced the thumbwheel rate and dose limit switches with digital LCD input, and placed the pump reset control on the keypad instead of on the control knob. They can also be interfaced with a computer for remote control from a central station or hospital central computer system. Accuracy has been increased to +/- 3%. They all share the same dedicated sets. There are a few significant differences in the various models:
Model 4: Dose limit range increased from 999 to 9999 mls. Has a three-position adjustable pressure switch, 4, 8, or 12 PSI.
Model 4P: Performs secondary (piggyback) rate and volume infusion, with secondary rate limited to 1 - 300 ml/hr. Also has increased dose limit range.
Model 4H: Specially designed for use by home patients, generally only available directly from Abbott and is not offered to distributors. More limited delivery rate (1 - 350 ml/hr) and dose limit ( 1 - 5000 ml). Doesnt allow titration.
Abbott Lifecare 5000 Plum
|
Abbott Lifecare 5000 Plum |
Pole-mounted home and hospital pump, uses only dedicated Abbott Plum sets. Variable pressure settings allow this pump to serve as a controller or positive-pressure pump. It can infuse secondary medications in a single dose, or using multiple doses at intermittent 15-minute intervals up to 24 hours. Optional computer connection; variable KVO rate. Internal switch allow choice of either macro or micro rate delivery. LCD display panel, digital input. Plum (version 1.6) can be used as a dual-channel infusion pump using dual-channel administration sets. The Plum XL is limited to single-channel infusion only. Rate parameters: 1 - 999
ml/hr (macro) Pressure limits: 0.1 PSI - 8.0 PSI variable Battery capability: 6 hours Accuracy: ± 5% |
Abbott Breeze Lifecare 175
|
Abbott Breeze Lifecare 175 |
Pole-mounted volumetric pump which, unlike most Lifecare pumps, uses standard Abbott non-cassette gravity tubing. Includes both primary and secondary infusion capability, titration, built-in free-flow protection, adjustable occlusion pressure sensitivity (4 or 8 PSI), alarm history log, and optional flow detector. Air-in-line alarms, proximal and distal occlusion alarms. Indicated for various types of infusion, including parenteral and enteral, TPN, lipids, antibiotics and nitroglycerin therapies. Rate parameters: Primary- 1-999 ml/hr in 1 ml increments Secondary- 1-300 ml/hr in 1 ml increments Volume parameters: 1-9999 ml in 1 ml incr. Battery capacity: 5 hours or 400 ml total volume delivered Battery recharge: 6 hours Accuracy: ± 2% |
