HomeVue Uterine Monitor System Models 2000/2001
(HVTD2000, HVTD2001)
The HomeVue system captures, displays, records, and transmits uterine activity, blood pressure, urine protein, blood glucose, and weight gain data at the home of the patient. Data is transmitted via modem to a central receiving station where the information can be printed, stored, and analyzed in a central database. A single receiving computer, loaded with the HomeVue proprietary operating program can be used to receive data from an unlimited number of home transmitting stations.
The home station consists of a Homevue telecomputer, and in the case of the 2000 version, a VCR, which are connected to the patients television. No VCR is necessary to run the newer 2001. The television can be used to monitor the sessions and allows the patient to view the instructional video included with the system. A tocotransducer is fastened around the patients abdomen and records uterine activity, which is transmitted to the telecomputer. At the end of each session the data is transmitted to the central receiving computer, where it is stored and analyzed by the home-care clinician.
The following items are needed for the HomeVue System:
1) HVTD2000 This includes the telecomputer, tocosensor, remote or 2001 controller, and interactive educational video tape.
2) HVSTAT This is the computer workstation, including a hard drive loaded with the HomeVue software, VGA color monitor, modem, and backup tape drive. Also available is the HVPORT, a laptop version of the computer work station.
3) HVVCR Videocassette Recorder, Panasonic model PV2301 or 2401. Also available is the HVTV-VCR, a combination television and VCR in a single modular unit. Used only for HVTD2000.
This system may be ideal for a company with a large network of patients who require uterine monitoring services. However, because of the prohibitive cost of the HomeVue system, single-site uterine monitoring needs might be better addressed by the UXAM66 or HP8040A.
